We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to join our dynamic team as an Assistant Purchasing Manager, you will support the purchasing department, ensuring efficient procurement processes and helping to maintain optimal inventory levels to meet organisational demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining procurement strategies to fulfil the organisation's supply needs efficiently.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and secure competitive pricing and terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to forecast future supply needs.
- Review and analyse purchase requests and orders to align with budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and resolve any issues related to deliveries or shipments.
- Maintain up-to-date records of suppliers, pricing, and inventory records in the procurement system.
- Support in conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of purchasing processes and procedures within the organisation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in a managerial capacity.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to maintain positive supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suites.
- Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to spot cost-saving opportunities.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management best practices.
