We are seeking a dedicated and talented individual to join our team as a Commis I - Pastry for a private property. This role involves assisting in the preparation and creation of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

Pastry Preparation and Assistance

• Assist in the preparation and baking of a variety of pastries, desserts, and confections under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Maintain consistency in preparation and presentation following established recipes and standards.
• Ensure all ingredients are prepared and measured accurately to support daily pastry operations.

Kitchen Organisation and Maintenance

• Ensure all workstations are clean, tidy, and comply with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Assist in the maintenance of kitchen equipment, reporting any issues or required repairs to senior staff promptly.
• Participate in inventory management, ensuring all pastry ingredients are sufficiently stocked and stored correctly.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment from any luxury hotel, preferably within a pastry or baking team, is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of pastry techniques and recipes.
• Formal culinary training or pastry school certification is desirable but not essential.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong attention to detail with a passion for pastry and dessert creation.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
