Laundry Attendant

We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Laundry Attendant.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold and iron laundry items including linens, towels, uniforms, and guest clothing according to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain commercial laundry equipment, ensuring safe and efficient use at all times.
- Identify and treat stains or damaged items, applying appropriate techniques as required.
- Monitor laundry chemical usage and report any shortages or equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisors.
- Ensure all laundered items meet company cleanliness standards and are stored in designated areas in an orderly fashion.
- Assist with the distribution and collection of laundry items from various departments as needed.
- Complete daily inventories of linens and generate reports for replenishment.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and orderliness in the laundry room, adhering strictly to all health and safety guidelines.
- Adopt safe manual handling practices and follow procedures to minimise risk of accidents or injuries.
- Work as part of the broader housekeeping team, offering support and flexibility during busy periods or to cover other duties if required.
Laundry Attendant Requirements – Skills & Experience Needed
- Previous experience working in a laundry, housekeeping, or cleaning role is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Understanding of safe handling, washing, and finishing of different fabric types.
- Ability to operate laundry machinery and follow operational instructions accurately.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative, positive attitude.
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift/move moderate loads in a safe manner.
- Flexible and reliable with a willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required.
- Basic record-keeping or inventory management experience is an advantage.
