We are currently seeking for passionate and dynamic Kitchen professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative solutions to our guests.
As a Commis I you are responsible for the daily food preparation and duties assigned to meet the set standard and qualities
Key Responsibilities -
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all hot kitchen dishes according to established recipes and premium standards.
- Work collaboratively with Chefs de Partie and the wider culinary team, following instructions and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the hot kitchen.
- Maintain impeccable standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety throughout all hot kitchen tasks, including accurate labelling, storage, and handling of ingredients.
- Support the set-up and breakdown of cooking stations, ensuring equipment and tools are cleaned, organised, and ready for service.
- Monitor stock levels of fresh ingredients and kitchen consumables, promptly reporting shortages to Supervisors or Chefs.
- Contribute to the production of special menus, private functions, and high-profile dining events as required by the property.
- Uphold quality and presentation standards for all dishes leaving the hot kitchen, reflecting the luxury brand’s reputation for excellence.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and hygiene regulations to guarantee a safe working environment for all team members and guests.
Essential Skills and Attributes For a Commis I – Hot Kitchen
- Prior experience in a hot kitchen, luxury hotel, high-end restaurant, or specialist food production environment is preferred.
- Keen interest in culinary arts, with a proactive attitude and a genuine desire to learn from experienced chefs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work efficiently within a multicultural kitchen team.
- Strong organisational abilities and a commitment to time management, ensuring tasks are completed to high standards under pressure.
- Meticulous attention to detail in food preparation, cooking, and plating to consistently exceed guest expectations.
- Flexible approach with the willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by the operation.
