We are seeking a reliable and professional housekeeping attendant to join our team. The role is ideal for individuals who take pride in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming environments, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting daily operations across our facilities. This position is open to applicants from all backgrounds and is gender neutral.
Key responsibilities for Housekeeping Attendant
Clean and maintain assigned areas to the company’s standards, including guest rooms, corridors, public areas, offices and back-of-house spaces.
Change bed linen, make beds and replenish toiletries and amenities as required, ensuring a high standard of presentation.
Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, polish and clean surfaces, fixtures and fittings using appropriate cleaning products and equipment.
Empty and dispose of waste responsibly and maintain recycling procedures in line with site policies.
Report maintenance issues, lost property and safety hazards promptly to supervisors and follow up as required.
Follow infection control, health and safety and COSHH procedures, including correct use, storage and labelling of cleaning chemicals.
Complete cleaning checklists and records accurately, using paper or electronic systems as required.
Support laundry operations where required, including handling, sorting, loading and folding linens and uniforms.
Assist colleagues and other departments to meet operational needs, including cover for absence and during busy periods; work patterns may include weekends and evenings.
Required skills and experience for Housekeeping Attendant
Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning, hospitality or facility services is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Good attention to detail with a commitment to delivering consistently high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Basic communication skills and ability to follow written instructions, checklists and standard operating procedures.
Awareness of health and safety principles and willingness to follow safety policies, including manual handling and COSHH guidance.
Physically able to undertake tasks that require standing, bending, lifting and carrying during shifts.
Basic IT skills for completing logs and communications are advantageous.
Willingness to undertake relevant checks and training (for example DBS, manual handling or site-specific induction) as required.
Qualifications and certifications preferred
City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications in housekeeping, cleaning or hospitality are advantageous.
Training or certificates in manual handling, COSHH or infection control desirable or willingness to obtain.
First aid certificate desirable or willingness to complete training where required.
Working hours, salary and benefits
Full-time, part-time and casual opportunities available; shift patterns may include days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays depending on site requirements.
Competitive pay dependent on experience, with opportunities for overtime where applicable.
