We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Kitchen Steward, you will support the kitchen’s smooth operation by ensuring all crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and utensils are cleaned and sanitised to the highest hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitise all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using both commercial dishwashers and manual cleaning as required.

• Monitor the cleanliness of the dish washing and kitchen areas throughout your shift, ensuring all surfaces, sinks and floors are kept clean, tidy and free of hazards.

• Organise clean crockery, cutlery and equipment safely for drying and storage, restocking items for seamless kitchen operations.

• Assist with basic kitchen cleaning duties, such as emptying bins, wiping down surfaces, and supporting the wider culinary team as necessary.

• Adhere to all food hygiene, safety and sanitation guidelines in accordance with company procedures.

• Report any breakages, maintenance issues, or shortages of cleaning materials promptly to the kitchen supervisor or chef on duty.

• Contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen culture, treating all colleagues with respect and maintaining professionalism at all times.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience working as a kitchen dish washer, or in a similar cleaning/hospitality role is beneficial but not essential; full training will be provided.

• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a positive attitude toward teamwork and supporting others.

• Ability to work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced kitchen environment, both independently and within a team.

• Understanding of basic food hygiene and safety practices (Level1 Food Hygiene certificate an advantage).

• Physically fit, able to stand for extended periods and carry out repetitive manual tasks.

• Good communication skills and willingness to learn.

• Fluency in English required; additional languages are welcomed.
