We are seeking a creative and reliable florist to join our private household team, providing floral design, care and delivery services that support the home’s aesthetic and hospitality needs.
Key Responsibilities
Floral Design and Arrangement
Create a wide range of floral arrangements for the home, events and VIP visits, including bouquets, table centrepieces, standing arrangements and installations, following the household’s style and quality standards.
Select, prepare and condition fresh flowers and foliage to ensure longevity and visual impact, using appropriate techniques for cutting, hydrating and arranging.
Maintenance and Care
Maintain floral displays throughout the property, replacing stems, refreshing water and trimming foliage to preserve presentation and hygiene.
Monitor flower and plant health, apply basic plant care practices and escalate any pest, disease or maintenance issues to the household manager or gardener.
Manage appropriate storage and refrigeration of flowers and materials to maintain quality and reduce waste.
Inventory, Procurement and Budget
Order flowers, foliage and sundry supplies from approved suppliers, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and timely delivery.
Keep accurate records of stock levels, orders and invoices and assist with budget monitoring and reconciliation as requested.
Maintain a tidy and organised floral workspace and ensure tools and equipment are cleaned and stored safely.
Event and VIP Support
Support planning and delivery of floral requirements for private events, dinners and official visits, liaising with events, protocol and household teams to meet brief and timings.
Provide on‑site setup and breakdown for events, ensuring arrangements are installed securely and presented to the highest standard.
Hygiene, Safety and Standards
Adhere to health and safety procedures when handling tools, floral foam, cleaning products and waste, and follow safe manual handling practices.
Maintain a professional appearance and deliver courteous, discreet service when interacting with household members, guests and suppliers.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Education and Experience
Proven experience as a florist or in a floral design role, preferably within private households, events or high-end retail environments.
Formal qualification in floristry is desirable but not essential for candidates with strong practical experience and portfolio evidence.
Skills and Abilities
Demonstrable creative flair and strong attention to detail in floral design and presentation.
Good plant and flower knowledge, including care, conditioning and seasonal availability.
Organisational skills with the ability to plan ahead, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work with household teams, suppliers and event staff.
Physically fit with stamina for standing, lifting and manual handling associated with arranging and installing displays.
Flexible approach to working hours, including early starts, evening events and occasional weekend work as required.
