We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Dog Handler to join our private hospitality team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong passion for canine welfare, experience handling dogs of varying sizes and temperaments, and a professional, discreet approach suited to a high-end private environment.
You will be responsible for the daily care, safe handling, and training support of dogs within a private residence or estate setting, ensuring exceptional standards of welfare, safety, and presentation at all times.
This position is open to applicants from all backgrounds and is gender neutral.
Key Responsibilities for Private Hospitality Dog Handler Role
Safely handle and control dogs within the private residence, estate grounds, and at external locations, ensuring public safety and animal welfare.
Provide daily care including feeding, grooming, structured exercise, enrichment activities, and monitoring of health and behaviour.
Support and reinforce structured training programmes under the guidance of senior trainers or behaviour specialists where required.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of behaviour, health observations, feeding schedules, and training progress.
Ensure kennels, living areas, transport crates, and equipment are maintained to high hygiene and operational standards.
Coordinate veterinary appointments, vaccinations, grooming visits, and specialist care as required, ensuring treatments are administered correctly.
Prepare dogs for travel, guest interaction, or formal household occasions when necessary.
Work collaboratively with household staff and estate management to meet operational needs, including flexibility for weekends and occasional evenings.
Required Skills and Experience
Previous experience handling dogs in a professional, estate, private household, kennel, training, or security environment is desirable.
Strong understanding of canine behaviour, body language, and positive reinforcement training methods.
High level of discretion and professionalism suitable for a private hospitality environment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to follow structured care plans and standard operating procedures.
Physically capable of managing dogs of varying sizes and energy levels, including safe restraint when necessary.
