We are seeking a reliable and detail-orientated laundry attendant to join our team. The successful candidate will support laundry operations to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation for guest linens, uniforms and other textiles, contributing to a positive guest experience and efficient back-of-house service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Operate washers, dryers, presses and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently

§ Sort, count, inspect and pre-treat linen, towels, uniforms and soft furnishings

§ Load and unload machines according to fabric type and soiling level

§ Fold, press and finish items to company presentation standards

§ Pack and label laundered items for distribution to departments

§ Maintain accurate records of laundry counts, losses and damages

§ Remove rubbish and transport linen to designated areas

§ Report equipment faults, maintenance needs and safety hazards to the supervisor

§ Comply with health, safety and hygiene standards at all times

§ Assist housekeeping and other departments when required, including handling guest laundry requests

GUEST SERVICE & COMMUNICATION

§ Provide courteous and professional service to colleagues and, where applicable, guests

§ Respond promptly to internal requests for linen, uniform or guest laundry services

§ Maintain confidentiality and respect guest privacy

§ Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members

STOCK, EQUIPMENT & RECORDS

§ Maintain accurate inventory of detergents, chemicals and laundry supplies

§ Report low stock levels and assist with stock rotation

§ Care for and use laundry equipment safely and correctly, following manufacturer and company procedures

§ Complete daily laundry logs and reports as required

TRAINING & PROFESSIONALISM

§ Attend training sessions and follow standard operating procedures

§ Support induction of new laundry team members when asked

§ Uphold a professional appearance and follow uniform policy

OTHER DUTIES

§ Perform other duties as assigned by the Direct Manager

Education / Qualification

§ Secondary education or equivalent preferred

Work Experience

§ Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, hospitality or a similar environment is desirable

§ Experience operating industrial laundry equipment is an advantage

Knowledge

§ Knowledge of laundry processes, detergents and safe handling of chemicals

§ Awareness of hygiene standards and health & safety best practice

Skills

§ Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently

§ Good time management and organisational skills

§ Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions

§ Good communication skills and a polite, team-focused manner

§ Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks

Other Requirements

§ Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required
