Role Summary
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for delivering high-quality marketing and communications activities across content, campaigns, social media, and event coverage. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager, the role combines communications coordination with hands-on content creation, ensuring all communications are accurate, on-brand, and delivered on time. The Coordinator also supports campaign execution, audience reporting, photography, videography, storytelling, and cross-team collaboration. This role is ideal for an organised, creative individual with a passion for the cultural and creative sector, offering opportunities to take greater ownership of content, storytelling, and community engagement as the role evolves.
Key responsibilities
Content and copy
• Write and edit English and Arabic copy for newsletters, social media, website content, event listings, member communications and campaigns.
• Transliterate English copy to Arabic.
• Ensure all copy is accurate, on-brand and appropriately pitched to its intended audience, working within established tone of voice guidelines.
• Maintain a content calendar in coordination with the Marketing and Communications Manager.
• Maintain and update copy templates, ensuring they remain accurate, current and useful across recurring communications activity.
• Review all outgoing communications for factual accuracy and alignment with programme and organisational details before publication.
• Proactively identify, gather and develop stories, member spotlights, project updates and community achievements for use across M_39 communications channels.
Campaigns and social media
• Coordinate the delivery of marketing campaigns, ensuring assets, approvals and scheduling are managed in good time and to a consistent standard.
• Manage social media scheduling and channel coordination across Madar_39's platforms, maintaining a consistent and well-considered publishing rhythm.
• Monitor social media channels, flagging relevant interactions, trends or audience feedback to the Marketing and Communications Manager.
• Research audience trends and communications opportunities, bringing relevant insights into planning and review discussions.
• Support the development of paid and organic campaign activity as directed by the Marketing and Communications Manager.
Photography, film and content production
• Photograph and film events, workshops, and community activity at Madar_39, producing content suitable for use across digital channels.
• Create and edit short-form digital content for social media and other platforms, working to a brief and to a consistent quality standard.
• Coordinate photography and videography requirements with the Experience Design team and, where applicable, with external photographers or videographers.
• Collate and maintain organised media libraries and content archives, ensuring assets are accessible, clearly labelled and up to date.
• Support basic design requirements in coordination with the Design Lead, where required.
Cross-team coordination and stakeholder liaison
• Work closely with the Programmes team to ensure upcoming activity is briefed to the Marketing and Communications team in good time, with accurate information to support announcements, social posts and event coverage.
• Liaise with the Design Lead to manage asset requests, ensuring that briefs are submitted with sufficient lead time and that design outputs are reviewed for accuracy before publication.
• Support coordinated communications with external stakeholders and partner organisations, facilitating information-sharing and approval processes where required.
• Build and maintain warm, professional relationships with Madar_39 Members, speakers and partners who contribute to or feature in Madar_39's communications.
• Provide the Marketing and Communications Manager with feedback from Members, speakers and external stakeholders, surfacing comments that may inform future communications activity.
Measurement and reporting
• Maintain consistent analytics tracking across Madar_39's digital channels, recording engagement, reach and performance data in line with agreed reporting formats.
• Produce regular marketing performance reports and dashboards for review by the Marketing and Communications Manager.
• Administer audience feedback and survey mechanisms where relevant, ensuring responses are collected, reviewed and shared appropriately.
• Maintain accurate records of campaign activity, content performance, and communications data to support continuity and future planning.
Administrative and financial support
• Liaise with the relevant teams to process marketing-related payments, including supplier invoices, freelance fees and vendor payments, ensuring all paperwork is in order and aligned with finance procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of marketing activity, supplier agreements and budget expenditure at a campaign and project level, flagging variances to the Marketing and Communications Manager in a timely manner.
• Support the procurement process for marketing suppliers and vendors, working with the operations and procurement teams as required.
Team and community
• Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues across departments, contributing to well-coordinated communications that reflect the full range of Madar_39's activity.
• Become a recognisable and trusted presence for Members and partners, representing Madar_39's values in every interaction.
• Attend community activities, programmes and events to capture stories, content and audience insights that strengthen M_39's communications and community narrative.
• Bring observations, content ideas and audience feedback into team discussions, helping the Marketing and Communications Manager understand what is resonating and what requires attention.
• Coordinate closely with the Programmes, Experience Design and Community Engagement teams to ensure communications are aligned across all touchpoints.
Other Requirements:
· Strong problem-solving, organisational, communication, and multitasking skills with the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
· Reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager and is expected to work independently while providing regular updates and collaborating within agreed plans.
· Flexibility to travel within the UAE and work evenings or weekends as required to support events and campaign activities.
