Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Communication and Marketing Manager to lead how our work is positioned, promoted, documented and shared.
Working closely with our strategic business units, you will transform services, programmes, opportunities and outcomes into coordinated marketing campaigns that build awareness and generate measurable registrations, enquiries, applications, visits, participation and footfall.
This role requires someone who can combine strategic planning with practical execution. You will develop the plan, write content, shape campaigns, coordinate creative production, capture on-site activities, publish across communication channels, monitor results and continuously improve performance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement MAKE’s annual communications and marketing plan, budget, campaign calendar and content calendar.
Work closely with strategic business unit leads to translate priorities into clear target audiences, messages, campaigns and calls to action.
Plan and deliver integrated organic and paid campaigns that generate measurable registrations, enquiries, applications, attendance and footfall.
Manage MAKE’s website content, social media platforms, newsletters, digital listings and other approved communication channels.
Write, edit and proofread engaging Arabic and English content for campaigns, social media, web pages, newsletters, announcements, profiles, invitations and press materials.
Capture and coordinate photography, short-form videos, interviews and live coverage featuring members, projects, products, programmes, partners and community impact.
Lead PR activities, media relations, press releases and proactive opportunities that strengthen MAKE’s reputation.
Maintain the company’s brand standards and oversee the workflow of the Brand and Communications Designer and external creative suppliers.
Manage relationships with designers, photographers, videographers, agencies, printers and other suppliers, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Establish campaign and channel KPIs, analyse performance, report practical insights and improve future campaigns and marketing expenditure.
Maintain organised and accessible archives of approved content, campaign assets, media coverage and brand collateral.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related discipline.
Minimum of five years of relevant communications and marketing experience.
At least two years of experience coordinating campaigns, suppliers, budgets or team members.
Demonstrated experience personally delivering integrated campaigns and content that generated measurable audience action - not only strategy, ideation or agency management.
Strong portfolio covering campaigns, copywriting, social content, storytelling, digital marketing, PR or brand-related work.
Experience within culture, creative practice, design, education, innovation, entrepreneurship, makerspaces, community-facing venues or experience-led services is advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent Arabic and English communication, copywriting, editing and proofreading skills.
Strong knowledge of campaign planning, audience segmentation, content strategy, channel selection, conversion journeys and marketing measurement.
Hands-on experience with social media, website content management, email marketing, digital advertising, analytics, SEO fundamentals and online business listings.
Ability to produce effective day-to-day photography and video content using a smartphone and practical editing tools.
Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Cloud or similar creative tools is advantageous.
Experience in media relations, press writing, interview preparation, reputation management and stakeholder communications.
Strong project management, prioritisation, budgeting, supplier coordination and quality-control skills.
Ability to manage multiple departmental priorities, meet deadlines and respond quickly to live activities while maintaining accuracy.
Strategic, organised and commercially aware, with a practical and delivery-focused working style.
